GAR is a critical piece of building a movement against fascism that brings working class, Pan-Asian communities to the front, and into the fold. At a time when authoritarianism is rising, GAR is a leader in strategizing around how to address the growing Asian right-wing forces and galvanizing communities to join us in this fight.
We provide a rallying point for grassroots leaders to fight for a multi-racial democracy based on working-class, pan-Asian communities, to build movements too powerful to ignore. With the support of donors like you, GAR has:
Expanded our membership in three years from 7 to 34 grassroots organizations, across 13 states.
Grown our reach significantly: GAR and our member organizations have a collective reach of 22k on email, and 227k on social media.
Engaged over 300 people who attended GAR events in 2024. We strategized around and developed resources on how to address the growing Asian Right-Wing and win back parts of our community that have been directly.
Wrote and disseminated our flagship educational tool, the Asian American Racial Justice Toolkit, which has been downloaded 6,400 times. Collectively with our membership, the toolkit has reached 19,000 followers on social media. It provides political education and strategies for building our power.
But it’s not just about numbers. Fahd, leader at our member organization Desis Rising Up and Moving (DRUM), says that “GAR provides a vital and unique political home, and a network of people that are doing similar work. Because of our shared commitment to building radical Pan-Asian power, we are able to learn from each other, support each other, consolidate our lessons, and build assessments of what we are fighting against and how to win together.”
In 2025, GAR will lead the way in fighting against the Asian Right-wing forces and for working-class interests. We will be leading a virtual event on cross-class organizing and bring back lessons to the broader movement. Like we did in 2024, we will be moving $300,000 to support 6 organizations in 5 different states to scale up their work for long-term efforts that will make change possible.
