Invest in Working-class Power this Giving Tuesday
This Giving Tuesday, I’m reaching out with gratitude and urgency. Today, I need your help to fortify the power of working-class Asian communities by making a gift to Grassroots Asians Rising: will you make a gift to protect and expand the power of our working-class Asian communities? GAR exists because of people like you who believe in justice, equity, and the power of grassroots movements.
2025 was a year of profound challenges and powerful victories for our movement. We saw our communities targeted by rhetoric and policies designed to divide us. But we did not falter. Instead, we grew stronger, more organized, and more united. In neighborhoods across the country, GAR member organizations supported immigrants and refugees, trained new leaders, and started campaigns that focused on the needs of everyday people. Working-class organizing shows us that we are resilient and fearless, and you are vital in supporting that organizing.
The GAR team spent 2025 taking our work to the next level. We expanded our staff, welcoming Sammie as our Membership Director to shape our shared political vision and strengthen our programs. They launched the Kitchen Table–a space for our member groups to receive tailored support to strengthen their work within our movement. We continued our Movement Mistakes & Lessons Learned programming series, creating space for organizers to share honest reflections and grow together at a time of rapidly changing conditions. We developed new tools for our members and allies to counter pro-authoritarian forces, while building sustainable, people-powered organizations.
But our work is far from over. The forces against us are not slowing down, and as we look to 2026, our ability to protect our communities and expand our victories depends entirely on the foundation we lay today.
