In the early 2000s, a small group of Asian American organizers dreamed of a national space to connect, conspire, and build a movement bigger than any one organization. Today, that dream has manifested as Grassroots Asians Rising with 38 member organizations reaching over 24,000 poor and working-class Asians across the US. 

GAR’s growth was possible because people showed up, season after season, with steady care to help GAR grow. This matters more than ever. Billionaires and corporations rake in record profits, while poor and working-class people are paying the price: groceries cost more, rent is higher than ever, and the organizing our communities need most is under attack as those in power consolidate authoritarian power and funding cuts threaten progressive movements.
